‘’It started with an idea Bring together a group of remarkable people to see if we could become something more.’’ If ever there was a time when the world needed superheroes, it’s now. Thanos (Josh Brolin) is on his way, and each Avenger can feel an impending sense of doom creeping across the globe. On a mission to collect all the Infinity Stones, Thanos aims to harness their extraordinary power to bend reality and ultimately obliterate Earth and every living creature on it. All-out war is inevitable. As Iron-Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), The Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Dr. Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) and the rest of the Avengers reunite for battle, it doesn’t take long to realise they alone cannot stop Thanos. With the Guardians of the Galaxy joining the fray there might just be some hope of survival at the end of this seemingly unwinnable war.

Vivian (Jane Fonda), Diane (Diane Keaton), Sharon (Candice Bergen), and Carol (Mary Steenburgen) are four women in their prime, living out their golden years properly and politely. They cook delicious food, drink good wine, and meet up to discuss literature at their monthly book club. But everything changes when they pass up the usual, critically-acclaimed titles in favour of the famously risqué “Fifty Shades of Grey”. Initially, not everyone is convinced that E. L. James’ erotic romance is the sort of thing that four ‘older’ women should be reading. But once they crack the spine, there’s no going back Beyond the typical cringing, giggling and blushing, the novel has an unexpected impact on the women. They begin to look at the romance in their lives or lack thereof and realise they want something more. With each other’s support, they set out on a mission to inject a bit of fire into their love lives. Diane and Sharon decide to brave the dating scene, Carol tries to spice up her marriage, and Vivian reunites with blast from the past (Don Johnson). What happens next is a steep learning curve full of awkward and hilarious events. Each of the women learns that, just because they’re in the later chapters of their lives, it doesn’t mean they can’t be the best ones. The directorial debut from Bill Holderman (producer of A Walk in the Woods), this fun and heart-warming comedy brings together a stronghold of talent, including Academy Award Winners Diane Keaton (Hampstead, Annie Hall), Jane Fonda (Our Souls at Night, Coming Home), and Mary Steenburgen (The Discovery, Melvin and Howard) and Academy Award Nominated Candice Bergen (Rules Don’t Apply, Starting Over).

Max the Rottweiler (voiced by Ludacris) is the not the sort of canine you’ll find at the grooming salon. A police dog who works for the NYPD, he’s rough, tough, and always willing to get his paws dirty. When he’s selected to help out with a high-profile undercover mission, Max can’t stop his tail from wagging – until he finds out he must enter the world’s most exclusive dog show as part of the assignment! A baby panda has been stolen, and it’s suspected that the Canini Invitational Dog Show is being used as a front for animal smuggling. Max and his new human handler Frank (Will Arnett) travel to Las Vegas and compete in the show, allowing them to investigate the case without arising suspicion. From mud baths to ballet lessons, Max begrudgingly throws himself into the celebrity lifestyle. With help from Philippe the chihuahua (voiced by Stanley Tucci) and Mattie the dog trainer (Natasha Lyonne), he begins to set aside his macho mentality and transform into a pretty convincing show dog. But it’s not just an external transformation that Max needs – if he and Frank are going to save the panda and catch the criminals, this tough dog cop must abandon his lone-wolf mentality and learn how to work as a team. Raja Gosnell, who brought us The Smurfs and Beverly Hills Chihuahua, directs this family comedy, which features Will Arnett (The Nut Job 2: Nutty By Nature) and Natasha Lyonne (Orange is the New Black) as the human talent, along with the vocal skills of Ludacris (Fast & Furious 5, 6, 7, and 8), Shaquille O’Neal (The Lego Movie), and Stanley Tucci (Transformers: The Last Night).
